Richard Bernier, DPT

I have been a physical therapist for 29 years. I became a private practitioner of physical therapy in Newburyport in 1983 when I became Director of Physical Therapy Services here at Bernier Physical Therapy. Since then, our facility has seen over 25,000 new patients that vary from the very young to the athlete to the middle-aged and elderly, each with a variety of diagnoses and varying problems. I also see patients with work-related musculoskeletal issues and people who have suffered from automobile accident injuries. I received my B.S. degree from Northeastern University in 1979 and my doctorate degree from Simmons College in 2005. I have been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association for 29 years, as well as the New England Physical Therapy Network. Aside from my work as a physical therapist, I enjoy being an active member of the Newburyport Rotary Club and was a member on the Board of Directors of the YMCA for many years. I also take pleasure in bike riding and other outdoor activities.
